A Mouth Full

"A Mouth Full"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

It is disappointing when I know I captured a neat moment to find out while editing that the photo is not sharp.  As photographers, we don't always get it right.

This chipmunk ran down the wall, went into the brush, got a mouth full of leaves, then ran back down the wall into his hole.  It was neat to capture the moment, and even though I am disappointed the photo is not sharp, the photo will always help me to remember it's story.

Ready To Fire

I have never had the opportunity to observe a baby goat (kid) nursing.  The baby goat aggressively jabbed at the mother's udders repeatedly while it was feeding.  I felt sorry for the mother goat.

"Protection"

I love photographing chipmunks and sometimes patience is needed to 'capture' them!  When they run under a rock for safety, I just sit and wait until they come back out.  They then slowly peer out of hiding and check to see if it is safe.

But as for me, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety."

Fast As Lightening!

"Fast As Lightening!"

I love to photograph birds at the shoreline.  They can be very challenging at times because the Sanderlings are fast as lightening.  I used my tripod for this shot and guess I looked silly chasing the bird down the shore as I was getting up and down when he moved.  It doesn't bother me if I look silly.  I am just trying to capture the shot:)

In And Out

This weekend I went to Little Mulberry Park in Auburn, Georgia. I found what I believe is probably a Ruby-crowned Kinglet fluttering in and out of a tree. He did not mind my presence.

When I got home and viewed the photo, I noticed there were a lot of thorns that he dogged with ease. Pretty neat!

Undivided Attention

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia had a great exotic bird and reptile show Saturday.  Exotic Paradise brought a variety of different creatures and birds.  I enjoyed having a Blue and Gold Macaw's undivided attention after the show while I was taking photos:)  I think he enjoyed the spotlight!

The Tiniest Details

"The Tiniest Details"

So many beautiful things in life are easily overlooked because we are not looking for them.  While photographing this particular day, I payed attention to the tiniest details and found something beautiful!

A Life Saved

"A Life Saved "
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I went to the State Botanical Garden today to capture a photo for The Digital Photography School's weekly photo challenge.  This week's theme is nature.

I was getting ready to start my photo shoot when I thought I saw a dead bird in the middle of the road to the parking lot.   I got some sticks and went to move it to the side so it would not get run over.  As I got close, I noticed it was a bat, and it was still breathing!

I met Jordan and Maggie in the parking lot and told them I wanted to photograph the bat.  Jordan held it for me.

The bat was shivering and cold.  After taking some photographs, I cupped the bat tightly in my hand trying to keep him warm.  Slowly, it shivered less and less.  He started to wiggle, so I put him on the ground.  The next thing we knew, he was in flight and fine!  He just needed a little warmth to get him going!  Had it not been for the challenge, I would not have gone to shoot, and the bat probably would have been run over by a car!

I hadn't even prayed yet to ask the Lord to bring to me what He wanted me to photograph.  He knows what I am thinking though!

Thanks Jordan and Maggie for helping me!!

You Can't Keep A Good Dog Down!

I tried three different times to put Ginger in the basket after she was asleep.  Each time she immediately woke up; she had a different photo shoot in mind!

Wide awake!!

Not again Aunt Judy!

I was trying to catch the morning light on her while she was in her pajamas!
