Masterfully Orchestrated

The Lord’s handiwork can be seen throughout creation—nature’s complexity is absolutely amazing!

The monarch butterflies are on their journey to Mexico, which is an astounding feat in itself. Only the fourth generation makes the 2,500-mile trip. If you’ve never read about their life cycle, I think you will enjoy reading it.

What is mind-blowing is that each butterfly knows how to get to Mexico yet they have never been! To top that, they mate and make the long trip back! Our Heavenly Father orchestrates it all.

Tussling with Mom

“Tussling with Mom"

A momma bear interacting with her cubs is one of the most fascinating things I think I have ever witnessed. Watching them is just mesmerizing.

This sow had two yearlings and enjoyed playing with them in the open field. Several times it appeared as though she had one pinned to the ground as they were playing. I wish I could watch those moments every day!

It’s Just You!

“It’s Just You!”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Hiking on the trails in Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains National Park is always an adventure. Wildlife can be around the next bend.

There was a small, dense patch of pines trees, a little taller than me, along one of the trails I was hiking on with my husband this past weekend. I could not see what was at the end of the patch nor see through either side.

It made me a little uneasy going through it. The last thing I want to do is be super quiet and startle a bear. As I walked, I spoke out loud making my presence known.

Just as I got through the patch of trees, I heard scampering everywhere. A mama bear and her cubs were foraging for food, and I scared the bejeebers out of the cubs causing this one to climb the tree. I don’t even think the mama bear was fazed. Her sensitive nose is a zillion times better than ours, so she knew we were there.

I enjoyed watching his face go from being scared to total relaxation. He looked at me as though to say, “It’s just you!”

Unconditional Love

"Unconditional Love"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Dogs are amazing animals. I am so glad God created them!

They show a level of love that we as humans have trouble displaying. We may show conditional love based on how we are treated or hold a grudge against someone and haven't forgiven them.

Dogs are there for us and comfort us through our pain, hurt, grief and sadness. They comfort with their unconditional love.

What can we learn from dogs? Love unconditionally.

This photo is of Lucy, my sister-in-law’s dog who passed away a few years ago. Just as my dogs helped me through so much, so did Lucy help her.

4 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a

A Moment in Time

Swan Lake in Sumter, South Carolina is the perfect place to photograph the colors of fall amongst the beauty of the swans. All eight species of swan can be found here.
The sights and sounds are amazing. Go see for yourself. This photo was taken last fall.

Spotted!

"Spotted!"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

When I write about chipmunks, typically I mention how they freeze when they see someone or are spotted—they somehow think they are no longer visible. It’s too cute.

The shots I end up getting, look like they have posed for me.

Reaching Upward

It’s hard for me to post this week in the midst of thinking about the mass shooting in Las Vegas Sunday night. My thoughts and prayers are sent to all those affected.

May we take the time to stop and ask the Lord to bring comfort, healing, and peace to those family members, friends, first responders and our nation affected by this terrible tragedy.
