Swan Lake in Sumter, South Carolina is the perfect place to photograph the colors of fall amongst the beauty of the swans. All eight species of swan can be found here.
The sights and sounds are amazing. Go see for yourself. This photo was taken last fall.

Focus on the Lord

“Focus on the Lord”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This weekend, Megan, a former student of mine died from injuries sustained in a car accident. She was only 23 years old.

Life is so frail, and we never know when we will take our last breath. But God is faithful, and He is in control.

Megan is now with her Savior in Heaven because she put her faith in Jesus—the One who died for her sins. I can’t imagine what she is seeing in Heaven right now.

When things in life seem to be spinning out of control, we need to keep our eyes focused on the One who is in control of the whole universe. Just as in this photograph, I had to keep the camera totally still to maintain focus on the tree while turning the lens, we too need to be still and keep our eyes focused on the Lord.

Please pray for her family:)

“I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8

Distressed Duck

Mallard duck on Swan Lake

While photographing at Swan Lake in Sumter, South Carolina, I came across this female duck. When I originally found her, she was resting on the shore in the brush.

For whatever reason, I could tell she was distressed and not happy with my presence. She would open her mouth repeatedly and stare at me. I did not see a nest and tried to not disturb her.

Since I did not have a turkey photograph I liked to post for Thanksgiving, I decided to post her beautiful face. I thought the photograph without her mouth opened looked better.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This past weekend, I attended a photography workshop at Swan Lake in Sumter, South Carolina. I met four other photographers there, and we had an amazing time.

Swan Lake is able to boast they are the only public park in the United States to feature all eight species of swans. It was breathtaking to be able to view the swans and hear their different vocalizations. I can’t wait to go back!
