My neighbor has a beautiful papillon dog named Nick.

 

I invited a friend over to photograph my monarch butterflies as I released them. Nick enjoyed watching from the window upstairs.

 

It was really neat that he watched us release butterflies as the French word for butterfly is le papillon. The papillon's ears resemble the wings of a butterfly.

Meet Remi—my niece’s chocolate lab puppy. I met Remi right before I photographed him while at a family reunion. He’s all grown up now!

Isn’t he the cutest thing in the whole world? Speaking of the whole world……did you know day is International Dog Day? AKA National Dog Day!

Ginger, (a Yorkshire terrier) is quite the mess. Trying to get her to sit still with a Santa hat on made for an interesting shoot:) I love the natural light shining through the blinds, which is reflected in her eye.

Dogs are amazing animals. I am so glad God created them! 

They show a level of love that we as humans have trouble displaying. We may show conditional love based on how we are treated or hold a grudge against someone and haven't forgiven them. 

Dogs are there for us and comfort us through our pain, hurt, grief and sadness. They comfort with their unconditional love.  

What can we learn from dogs? Love unconditionally.

This photo is of Lucy, my sister-in-law’s dog who passed away a few years ago. Just as my dogs helped me through so much, so did Lucy help her.

I went to a farm recently in Sautee, Georgia to photograph hummingbirds, sunflowers and farm animals. Little did I know, there would be a beautiful Australian shepherd dog at the farm.

His name is Leo. He is the sweetest, most patient dog and so gentle too. I had fun photographing him by the flowers. He sat up nicely for me.

One of my favorite photos of him is when he was in the field. He is in his element—ready to work.

Ginger is the sweetest dog who belongs to my husband’s aunt. I care for Ginger frequently as I am helping his aunt.

I bought Ginger a Halloween costume so I could photograph her. The two hardest parts were picking out the perfect costume and getting her to sit still long enough to photograph her.

My husband helped me. He sat next to her on the rock and held her leash so she wouldn’t run off. Ginger has a lot of energy and does not like sit still.

It was a juggling act! By the time I got her costume ready and walked to my tripod and camera, she would move. After many attempts, she finally let me take a decent shot.
