The poppies were beautiful recently at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. It was eye candy!

I enjoyed watching this bee buzz around the poppies. He was “Clear for Landing!”

My husband and I went to Dukes Creek Falls last weekend so I could photograph the waterfalls. I prayed before we went for the Lord to show us what He wanted me to photograph. I saw purple flowers as we hiked and knew I wanted to photograph them on the way back.

The flowers I found did not look pretty enough to photograph. My husband pointed out a bunch of flowers that were perfect. I saw several bugs and photographed them as well.

As we were driving home, I noticed how beautiful the bugs were as I viewed the photos on my laptop. They are an iridescent green, yellow and red.

I have never seen this type of bug before. They are called pure green bees. It is ironic they are called pure green when they are many colors.

I am thankful the Lord used my husband to help me photograph something so pretty!

A fellow photographer and I met at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia yesterday to shoot. I was intending to photograph hummingbirds until my friend Heather mentioned she saw a sleeping bee.

While I was photographing the one she showed me, I told her to look for more. I enjoyed photographing the bees, but I had to be quick as the morning sun was waking them up:)

I love I was able to capture the soft and beautiful ray of light beaming down on this flower. Sometimes light changes so frequently, and if not acted upon quickly enough, it fades away.

Dew Bee

I was on an expedition at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia to do my yearly documentation as to when the hummingbirds leave the Garden. An immature male hummingbird is there as of today which is a tie for last year's final hummer departure. 

I was able to photograph the hummer, but my favorite shot from today goes to this sleeping bee. I love seeing the dew on his body, especially his eyes.

I had to stand on a borrowed bucket to get high enough to photograph down on the bee, but even then I held my camera in the air and tried to look through my LCD screen to photograph him. I normally do not put the subject in the middle of my photo, but hey.....I'll take what I can get while standing on a bucket:)

I found these two bees on the same flower. I am sure they were not playing tag, but probably defending the pollen on the flower. I observed this behavior two times in less than a minute.
