Fear Not

“Fear Not”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This past year has been hectic for many people because of the COVID-19 virus. Isolation, anxiety, fear, stress, grief, and depression can have devastating affects on the body. Give all of it to Jesus and trust in Him!

Let these verses wash over you. May they bring you comfort!

“Be still and know that I am God!” (Psalm 46:10, NLT).

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10, ESV).

“I want you to be free from anxieties” (1 Corinthians 7:32, ESV).

“Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you” (Isaiah 35:4, ESV).

“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection” (Psalm 91:4, NIV).

“But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31, NIV).

“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy” (Psalm 94:19, NIV).

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39, NIV).

“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:27, ESV).

“I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4, ESV).

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you” (Psalm 56:3, NIV).

“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever” (2 Corinthians 4:18, NLT).

You’re Not Alone

“You’re Not Alone”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I first noticed this black bear yearling in Cades Cove last year as he was running across the road. My first glance was a bear butt as he entered the woods. Before long, he was in a field sitting all alone.

Mama bears give birth in January and stay with their cubs for about 16-17 months. Watching their bond is amazing to witness. She devotes her life protecting them from danger and teaches them what to eat.

The sad part occurs when she must chase them away. June rolls around and it’s mating season. She allows the yearlings to stay in her territory but avoids those areas. When she does encounter them, she chases them away.

Yearlings must figure out things on their own. Eventually, they become confident, independent bears and start a family of their own.

The good news is we are never alone. It may feel like it with the quarantine because of the Coronavirus. But God is with us every step of the way. No matter what we have done, he still loves us.

God said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

I hope you have a “beary” good Memorial Day Weekend!

Matilda

“Matilda”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

A female mallard duck takes advantage of the quiet playgrounds amid the coronavirus and lays eggs.

Meet Matilda, a female mallard—my new friend. Since the playgrounds are closed because of the coronavirus, they have become a quiet place of peace and solitude. This serenity attracted Matilda to lay a clutch of about 18 eggs underneath the green stairs next to a red slide.

I asked a worker if he had seen any wildlife. He answered, “There are mainly squirrels and ducks.” He then told me about a duck laying on eggs and directed me to her new home.

I gave her duck food to comfort her and waited till the light was void of the harsh shadows to photograph her.

The last time I visited, she was off the nest preening near her mate. This opportunity let me see her eggs from a distance. I can’t wait to meet all her ducklings!!

She is definitely practicing social distancing and has her house decorated early for Christmas!

His Love for Me

“His Love for Me”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

During this difficult time of uncertainty because of the Coronavirus, you can rest assured God is in control.

Social distancing is something I’d never heard before this virus. You may be miles apart from your loved ones or feel miles apart from them in your own home. But God is with you every step of the way.

I don’t know what you are going through, but God is greater. ”You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Brian Littrell wrote a song titled Over my Head. Many years ago, I played it over and over a million times during one of the most difficult times in my life. Through his song, the Lord reached down and literally touched my heart and soul. He showed me the depths of His love for me. 1 John 4:4

Jeremiah 33:3 states, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Numbers 6:24-26 states, “May the LORD bless you and keep you;
May the LORD cause His face to shine upon you
And be gracious to you;
May the LORD lift up His countenance toward you
And give you peace.”

It is neat that this monarch butterfly looks like he is giving the flower a hug.

His Eye

“His Eye”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Today, I started singing the hymn His Eye is on the Sparrow. I asked the Lord to lay songs on my heart, to give me a word from Him, or to give me dreams.

Life has been difficult for me the last few weeks. Life can toss you too and fro but keeping my eye on the Lord has kept me centered. The Lord did not promise we would not see trials and tribulations, in fact, the Bible has many verses about it.

The Coronavirus has people up in arms. But, let me share with you a word from the Lord I received almost ten years ago. “When there is not enough…..there is……I AM!”

I wasn’t going through hard times when I received His word. It has ministered to me greatly in hard times.

Jesus said, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:26
