Ma Berry's Dangling Claw

“Ma Berry's Dangling Claw”

Ma Berry, the female bald eagle who nests at Berry College, gave me the privilege of a flyby on Saturday. She was roosting in one of her favorite pine trees at sunrise then flew very near me. Boy, was I excited!

Notice how Ma Berry’s foot dangles as she flies.

Banking Left

I went to Berry College on Saturday and photographed the eagles, but my favorite photo of the day is of this tree swallow. Tree swallows are amazingly fast and can change directions on a dime. I'll save the story for a rainy day of how I captured it. One word really......Jesus!

Welcome Spring!

“Welcome Spring!”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Sometimes we can’t do things by ourselves, and we need help from others. Such is what happened to me Monday—the first day of spring.

I forgot my tripod, and it was impossible to photograph the tulip and hold my diffuser at the same time. A lady walking by with her daughter and saw my predicament. She asked me, “Do you want me to be a large shadow for you?”

She willingly held my diffuser for me enabling me to capture the shot I wanted. Who can you lend a helping hand to today?

Baby

"Baby"

Meet Baby—she is a mandarin duck from East Asia. I also photographed her while in El Paso, Texas. A resident that has been feeding her for years, named her.

I too feel sorry for Baby because she does not have a mate. Don't ask me how she got there.

Happy first day of spring!!

Little Plateada

Ringed Teal Duck (male)

I learned of “Little Plateada” while photographing in El Paso, Texas. A lady named Jayne introduced me to him and named him.

Yes, these birds are from South America, but someone probably bought him and abandoned him at this lake. He’s a long way from home and sadly, does not have a mate. He’s forced to live a life of solitude.

I was excited to photograph birds while I was in El Paso, Texas last week because I would see birds not found in Georgia.

I was in love with this little guy. Don't you love his bright eye and fluffy butt?
