I went to the Fort Loudoun Dam to photograph the ospreys as they fished for their next meal.

I saw a bunch of tree swallows darting across the water. They would home in on their target like a missile. I thought maybe they were snatching up minnows.

 As I was editing my photos, what they were doing became clear. Tiny insects lurked above the water and became prime targets for the swallows.

I went to Berry College on Saturday and photographed the eagles, but my favorite photo of the day is of this tree swallow. Tree swallows are amazingly fast and can change directions on a dime. I'll save the story for a rainy day of how I captured it. One word really......Jesus!

I found this baby Tree Swallow nest at Lake Junaluska this week.  I captured the baby being given a dragonfly.

 

 

When I first saw the baby, I just saw a head sticking out of the box.

Reflection

To the naked eye, this Tree Swallow appears to be high in the sky with the clouds behind him. The background though is a reflection of the clouds and sky in the lake.  When I noticed the reflection, I took several photos to get this effect.
