Tiny Steps

“Tiny Steps”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This is Ginger a Yorkshire terrier that belongs to my husband's aunt. I photographed her when she was only seven weeks old.

I spent the morning photographing her and put her in several places for her photo shoot. This was the first day she walked on grass.

She was so cute when she was a puppy!

Torn (part II)

"Torn (part II)"

This is an Axis deer from Asia. They are different from the deer found in Georgia because they retain their spots throughout their life.

Notice the animal’s torn ear.

Finding Beauty Everywhere

The thing I love about photography……..you don’t even have to know anything about the subject to find beauty in it!

Along the Shore

"Along the Shore"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I found this reddish egret one morning on the beach at St. Simons Island, Georgia. When I first found him, he was looking for breakfast in the tide pools near the dunes.

This is my favorite photograph of him as he walked along the shore. It shows the huge waves crashing behind him.

Sweet Dreams

A fellow photographer and I met at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia yesterday to shoot. I was intending to photograph hummingbirds until my friend Heather mentioned she saw a sleeping bee.
While I was photographing the one she showed me, I told her to look for more. I enjoyed photographing the bees, but I had to be quick as the morning sun was waking them up:)

One of my favorite things to do when I go to Lake Junaluska is to photograph the swans. They have a favorite hangout spot and don't mind if I get near them. The swan spent an hour preening its feathers, so I had plenty of time to photograph him. This is my favorite shot:)

Jason’s Iris

I have shared this photo before, but I want to put it on Instagram, so I am sharing it again.

This male ruby-throated hummingbird stopped by to feed on the Japanese iris. I now refer to the iris as Jason’s iris. Jason was a former worker at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. This was Jason’s favorite iris. He was tragically killed in a car accident in 2012.

Eye to Eye!

"Eye to Eye!"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I long to have the resources to travel the world taking photographs of nature and wildlife. It will happen one day, but until then, I am patient. I continue to photograph the beauty found in nature right here in Georgia, or wherever I do travel.

This photograph was taken at the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The animals roam freely and come to your car for a tasty bite of food.

This giraffe walked up to my car and got so close I had to put on my micro lens.
My favorite part…..I can see my reflection in my eye!

Happy Fourth of July!
