Cheese!

“Cheese!”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Did you know that giraffes don't have upper front teeth? They actually have the same number of teeth as we do, but most of their teeth are molars in the back of their mouth.

Backstory to this photo: My husband and I went to the Wild Animal Safari. Most of the animals roam freely on 500+ acres of land. The giraffes will come to your car to eat the special food that can be purchased in the gift shop.

On the second trip through the park, our SUV made a very loud explosion and steam poured out from under the hood. While we waited for help and get towed out of the park, I photographed the animals near my car. Why not make the best out of a bad situation!

We ended up buying a new car that day as my car was starting to break down too often because it was old and had about 240,000 miles on it.

Eye to Eye!

"Eye to Eye!"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I long to have the resources to travel the world taking photographs of nature and wildlife. It will happen one day, but until then, I am patient. I continue to photograph the beauty found in nature right here in Georgia, or wherever I do travel.

This photograph was taken at the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The animals roam freely and come to your car for a tasty bite of food.

This giraffe walked up to my car and got so close I had to put on my micro lens.
My favorite part…..I can see my reflection in my eye!

Happy Fourth of July!

Getting There

"Getting There"

"Mouflon are found throughout various countries in central Asia, from Turkey in the west, to Pakistan in the east." http://www.arkive.org/mouflon/ovis-orientalis/
This sheep though was photographed at the Wild Animal Safari, in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Mature male's horns are curved in almost one full revolution, so this male is getting there:) Another photo of a mouflon sheep can be found in my header photograph.
They are beautiful creatures!

Nilgai

"Nilgai"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography
The Nilgai a large antelope found in India and eastern Pakistan. Luckily, I did not have to travel there to photograph it. That's why I love the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Georgia. It brings animals from all over the world to me!

A Zebra Playing Fetch

"A Zebra Playing Fetch"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I took this photograph while at the Wild Animal Safari. I was glad I was able to photograph the zebra at eye level. Looks can be deceiving. It looks as though I am laying on the ground to take this shot.

The zebra looks like he is fetching a stick for me.

Wonderfully Made

"Wonderfully Made"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I found this Black Buck Antelope at the Wild Animal Safari and fell in love.  He is beautiful head to toe.

The Lord made so many neat creatures.  We too are wonderfully made and made in His image:)

Torn

"Torn"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

My family and I went to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Georgia this past weekend.  I love going there and photographing the wildlife.  This is one of my favorite shots of the day.  To me, I captured the essence of this animal.

I titled this photograph "Torn" because of the animal's ear.

No Ear Has Heard

"However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"-- (NIV, 1 Corinthians 2.9)

I look forward to what God has prepared for me in this life and in eternity!  It does seem uneasy at times, especially when I have come to a place in my life where my future is so uncertain!  This uncertain time in my life has made me focus on living day to day because I don't really even know what next week will bring!  But, God is in control, so I am at peace!

Don't You Love My Pretty Eyelashes?

My son was my assistant photographer and helped me stage this photo. While we were on our safari, he threw food out of the window.  The ostrich at one point had his head in our SUV.  Hence, the reason we can see its eyelashes so well!

Singing The Alleluia Chorus

Well, I couldn't come up with an appropriate title for this photo, so I asked my husband.  He
sang the alleluia chorus and told me that was the first thing that popped in his mind!

Wallowing

"Wallowing" Photo by Judy Royal Glenn
Click on the photo for a closer view.

Pigs really like to wallow in the mud and water.  They barely have any sweat glands, so wallowing in the mud can help them regulate their body temperature.  I can choose to wallow with the pigs, but I have He who equips me with everything I need.  He helps me through!
