May I Cut In?

“May I Cut In?"

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Six white-tailed bucks congregated in a large field at Cades Cove on Friday. Two of the males already lost their racks. One of them was our cherished Buddy who has an injured left leg due to a possible snake bite.

I took quite a few photos then decided to get out my tripod because they started to spar. Two of the deer went at it for a bit then the smaller one ran away for no apparent reason.

I was tickled to death to watch the sight continue to unfold. I’ll let the video show what happened next. It’s cute!

It’s Monday—Nope!

“It’s Monday—Nope!”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

On my birthday, I went to the Murfree Spring Wetlands in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I prayed my normal prayer for the Lord to show me or bring to me what He wanted me to photograph.

I knew raccoons lived in a tree in there, but I did not see them the previous two days. Thankfully, the Lord provided a spectacular viewing of them.

He came out, scratched and said, “It’s Monday—Nope!”

Who Goes There?

“Who Goes There?”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

In March 2018, a friend and I found two deer behind the welcome center in Cades Cove, Tennessee.

We enjoyed photographing them, and I decided to take a video. One buck had already lost his rack. The other buck had one antler left.

They heard or sensed something on the other side of the field that spooked them. I have no idea what it was.

Whee!!!!

Whee!!!!

Sound on for story:)

This cardinal enjoyed sliding on the windshield of my car and checking himself out on my windows, windshield and side mirrors.

I wasn’t sure what he was doing at first. I thought I had parked near his nest, so I moved my car. He still did the same thing again. I moved my car again. After moving it the third time, I gave up.

Slippery Sloth

“Slippery Sloth”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I enjoyed my time with Lulu the sloth when I was in Costa Rica. She was a doll!

Did you know sloths move six and ½ feet per minute? It’s great when you are trying to make a photograph or video. They can’t run away from you!!

Here I Come!

“Here I come!”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

The least tern is the smallest tern in the world, and I was lucky to see them when I was on St. Simons Island, Georgia in 2017.

Their eggs are beautifully decorated with black, brown, and grey spots. Utter care must be taken to avoid stepping on the eggs as they nest on the sand—the eggs blend in with the sand. Fortunately, the area was roped off to keep beach-goers from walking in their nesting area.

The incubation is done by both the male and female, although the female more so early on and the male later.

A well-intentioned person was picking up trash and crossed into their area. I told him about the nests. He was unaware their nests were on the ground.

I hope you enjoy the video!! Did you notice the eggs before the tern walked up?
