Hues of the Season

“Hues of the Season”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Many years ago, while at Berry College, a friend and I went to the Old Mill towards the back of their beautiful campus. It was my first time seeing the mill.

We found a frog in the pond. He was cooperating and being still while we photographed him.

Step by step, I moved around to get the beautiful autumn colors reflected in the pond.  I had to be careful–one wrong step and my camera equipment or I could end up in the pond.

I am happy we found him!

Looking Forward to 2019

“Looking Forward to 2019”
Cuban Bullfrog – juvenile

While on Grand Cayman, we hired the nicest guide, Geddes Hislop, who took us birding. Look him up if you want to see some great birds on Cayman!

I have some beautiful shots of the birds on Cayman, but I am also glad he showed us many other subjects to photograph as well.

While we were at the Botanic Park, I was photographing a flower when I noticed this Cuban bullfrog trying to take a nap in the safety of the flower’s petals.

It took forever to get the final image I wanted. The top petal, which was folded on top of him, kept falling down when I lifted it. He was probably terrified!

I am very thankful for what the Lord shows me or brings to me. I can’t wait to see what He has in store!

On the Brink

A friend and I enjoyed photographing this green tree frog at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. He steadied himself on the edge of this leaf. I could tell he was going to jump, but he was kind enough to pose and let us take lots of photographs.

Plucked

The frog was having a great day until he was spotted by this immature little blue heron and plucked from his habitat. This is the part that I hate about nature. Others may really like the shot—I am sensitive to death and hate that others have to die so they can live.

Did you know the green tree frog is the official state amphibian of Georgia?

Thanks to a sweet friend who found the frog and another friend who helped me put him where I wanted him, I was able to get this shot! Needless to say, we had a hopping good time trying to do so!!

This photo was taken at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, Athens, Georgia.

Intentional

"Intentional"

Anytime I go out to shoot, I am always aware of my surroundings. I am intentional in my observations. Wildlife and beautiful flowers sometimes come in small packages and can be overlooked.

While I was at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, I found this little guy at the edge of a pond. He was sitting very still but did not mind as I crept up to photograph him.
