“Who Goes There?”

In March 2018, a friend and I found two deer behind the welcome center in Cades Cove, Tennessee.
We enjoyed photographing them, and I decided to take a video. One buck had already lost his rack. The other buck had one antler left.
They heard or sensed something on the other side of the field that spooked them. I have no idea what it was.

I love the way the big one stood stock still. My greyhound did that when she was startled. Of course, if she was in the house, she stuck her head under the couch.
