My 30^th wedding anniversary was a few weeks ago. We were planning on celebrating by going on a cruise then COVID-19 happened. Maybe we will celebrate a little late. Better late then never!

Jamaica is a beautiful country. I visited Ocho Rios last year. I photographed the hummingbirds there and other wildlife as well.

For each country I visit, I like to go to the beach and photograph a shell on the shore. Knowing that shells may not be abundant, I bring my own.

This white armoured starfish once again gets to return where it started—in the ocean.

While I in was in Haiti on my cruise, I explored the coastline to see what I could find. I found a colony of hermit crabs enjoying the sun and decided to photograph them during a two second exposure. I liked the milkiness of the waves the longer exposure created.

There is a small amount of movement from the top left hermit crab and the grey one because they were in a race. The top one on the right won:)

I normally do not photograph people, as my passion is nature and wildlife. But, while walking on the Grand Cayman beach, I found beauty in the serenity of a lady enjoying the nature around her. It is the essence of what I felt while on my Caribbean vacation. I am ready to go back!

Haiti's shores were a mixture of beautiful white sand in some places, whereas other spots were extremely rocky.

My family had already gone back to the ship, but I enjoyed photographing the beach. I loved the beautiful blue water splashing on the rocks.

This starfish originated in the Philippines, then was exported to the United States to be sold. I bought it and took it to Haiti so I could photograph it on the white sandy beach. I loved the crystal blue ocean!

I rarely photograph before the sun rises, but this particular morning, I went to Jekyll Island, Georgia to photograph at Driftwood Beach.  As I was shooting, a shrimp boat caught my eye. 

I love the silhouette of the captain and his mate as they are too out early to work.

Memories

This photograph represents much more than it appears.  It just looks like a shell resting at the water's edge.  

My dad's wife (Claudia) owns a condo on St. Simons Island, Georgia.  When we were staying there recently, I noticed this beautiful shell in her condo.  I wanted to take the shell to the beach and use my new wireless remote so I can keep my shutter open for long periods of time while the tide rushed in and out.  I did use the shutter release, and then I shot some normal photographs of the shell at the water's edge. 

When I asked Claudia if I could take the shell to the beach, she told me to be very careful with it because her grandmother found it on the beach in Fernandina, Florida.

I wanted to give her the framed print for her birthday.  So, when my family got together this past weekend for our annual trip, my sisters and I gave it to her as a gift.  

I did not know what to title it, so I can up with "Memories" because the photograph would always remind her of her grandmother.
