The Seven Sisters

"The Seven Sisters"

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Deep in Grenada's rainforest lie seven waterfalls called the Seven Sisters. While in the West Indies, we visited Grenada on an excursion from the Emerald Princess.

The larger waterfall is majestic and feeds into a small waterfall below the beautiful pool. The other five waterfalls could not be viewed from our location.

It was fun trekking into the rainforest to the falls. On the way there, we passed a small wooden shanty and borrowed a hiking stick. I even saw a hummingbird. The view is stunning!

We were surprised to receive a free attraction—a man climbed the falls and did a backflip into the pool below. Of course, tips were encouraged.

On the way back, we visited the shanty for a cold drink. It was a wonderful excursion.

I enjoy posting my cruise photos as I relive the experience again.

"A Pilot Whale and Her First Mate"

"A Pilot Whale and Her First Mate"

St. Lucia was a wonderful place to visit when we took a two-week cruise from late November into December. Please see my previous blog here to read the details of this day.

We took a dolphin and whale cruise—it was magical! I love the image of this pilot whale because she and her baby are against the backdrop of St. Lucia.

“Mommie & Me”

 “Mommie & Me”

** I love the baby dolphin breaching the water next to his mommie:) The water moving over his fins is amazing! **

Want to take a Caribbean vacay and not pay a dime? I’ll take you on one for free by letting you see through my lens during my vacay.

Stay put. We went on a 14-day trip to the eastern Caribbean, and I took 11,403 photos—it’s gonna be a long trip! Of course, I will add photos of the cute bears:)

We loved our stay in St. Kitts. We took a whale and dolphin excursion, and it did not disappoint. I prayed and asked the Lord to bring them to us.

One crew member said they had an 80 to 85% success rate of finding them. The Lord blessed us immensely on our trip. It was 100 million percent.

There were about six of us younger folk—we rode on the bow of the boat. It’s funny how a couple next to us has a cabin in East Tennessee, and they love the Lord. He sent videos and pictures to his grandkids and his 4 1/2-year-old granddaughter. She said, “Where do the baby dolphins put their toys?” He said, “In a coral toy box.”

The front of the boat was rocky, but it was the best place to see the dolphins because you could look to the right and left within a small radius.

We saw pilot whales and several pods of bottlenose dolphins. Two Pilot whales rode beside our boat for a while, and one pod of dolphins swam right towards us.

Paul, once again, was my spotter. It’s extremely hard photographing a moving target while looking through what seems like a pair of binoculars. Did I mention the boat was pounding the waves?

The dolphins stay above water for a very short time, but I set my new camera on the fastest frame rate—120 frames per second. Wow! In one shot, I got a mama dolphin and her baby breaching simultaneously.

We figured it out by using the hands of a clock to let me know which direction they were swimming.

I disliked photographing the dolphins in the sun—it cast white on the waves. I wish I had my polarizer, which would’ve taken that out. It is what it is. I enjoyed getting a few shots of the landscape of St. Lucia in the background.

The excursion was beyond amazing because the Lord answered my prayer once again.

“Better Late Than Never”

“Better Late Than Never”

My 30th wedding anniversary was a few weeks ago. We were planning on celebrating by going on a cruise then COVID-19 happened. Maybe we will celebrate a little late. Better late then never!

This photo was taken on our last cruise with Princess Cruises in 2018.
