Focus on the Lord

“Focus on the Lord”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This weekend, Megan, a former student of mine died from injuries sustained in a car accident. She was only 23 years old.

Life is so frail, and we never know when we will take our last breath. But God is faithful, and He is in control.

Megan is now with her Savior in Heaven because she put her faith in Jesus—the One who died for her sins. I can’t imagine what she is seeing in Heaven right now.

When things in life seem to be spinning out of control, we need to keep our eyes focused on the One who is in control of the whole universe. Just as in this photograph, I had to keep the camera totally still to maintain focus on the tree while turning the lens, we too need to be still and keep our eyes focused on the Lord.

Please pray for her family:)

“I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8

Blazing Leaf

I have been searching for a month trying to find fall color to photograph. Fall came late to Athens because of the drought.

As I was leaving the State Botanical Garden of Georgia on Saturday, I saw a beautiful tree blazing with color as the sun penetrated its leaves. Even though I was in a hurry, I stopped to photograph it.

My camera majorly freaked out because of the color and saturated the photograph with red. I worked on the photograph extensively and did the best I could to fix it. I hope you like it:)

Distressed Duck

Mallard duck on Swan Lake

While photographing at Swan Lake in Sumter, South Carolina, I came across this female duck. When I originally found her, she was resting on the shore in the brush.

For whatever reason, I could tell she was distressed and not happy with my presence. She would open her mouth repeatedly and stare at me. I did not see a nest and tried to not disturb her.

Since I did not have a turkey photograph I liked to post for Thanksgiving, I decided to post her beautiful face. I thought the photograph without her mouth opened looked better.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Under a Veil of Smoke Once Again

It’s been a long time since the Iron Horse was veiled in smoke. The first occurrence was in the 1950’s on the campus of UGA as students did not think highly of the 2-ton sculpture and tried to set it on fire.

Recently, smoke has surrounded the Iron Horse once again as wildfires in Georgia have burned for weeks pushing smoke into the area. The Iron Horse is unphased, but as it stands watch, it hopes the fires will be extinguished soon.

Hueco Tanks State Park, El Paso, Texas

Huecos (“whey-coes”) are indentions in the rocks that collect rainwater and can be found throughout Hueco Tanks State Park in El Paso, Texas. They have helped sustain life for humans, wildlife, plants and trees.

I used my wide angle lens to capture the beauty of the Hueco.
