What's She Thinking?

"What's She Thinking?"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This female cardinal sat on top of the State Botanical Garden's rooftop for quite sometime.  Since I live in Georgia and it doesn't snow very often, it may be her first snow.  Wonder what she's thinking?

Thank You Lord

"Thank You Lord"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

We don't get snow that often in Georgia.  When I knew there was a chance of snow, I had my camera packed and ready to go.  I knew exactly where to go....the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.  I noticed a very busy bird feeder the last time I was there, so I waited and let the birds come to me!

Thank you Lord for the snow!  It looks like the Titmouse is thinking the same thing:)

Dismal

"Dismal"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Georgia had a cold snap and even though it was cold, I wanted to go out and shoot anyway.  I wanted to use my new 105 mm lens because I haven't shot with it much at all.

I was sadden to see about five frozen goldfish in a pond.  I normally don't take photographs of dismal objects, but I was drawn to photograph them.

  Poor goldfish:(

An Unexpected Surprise

"An Unexpected Surprise"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I just got back my broken lens and camera that had been repaired.  I wanted to get out and shoot, but I was reluctant because of a cold snap with wind gusts making it feel like it was in the teens.

I went out anyway and as I was walking around, I heard a group of young people get excited about something.  When I walked over to where they were, I noticed an unexpected surprise.  The fountain was frozen but still had water flowing from it!  It was beautiful and worth the trip!

Georgia's Beauty

"Georgia's Beauty"

Georgia's state butterfly is the tiger swallowtail. The lower part of its wings looks like the long tail feathers of a tree swallow.

Eye Candy

"Eye Candy"

I have a lot of learning to do because I just bought the Nikon 105mm lens.  The depth of field is super shallow, so I have to be precise where I focus.  I love flowers, so photographing them will be eye candy for me as I learn!

Over Here!

"Over Here!"

The reason I found this little critter so easily is because he was being very, very vocal.  I would have never know he was there.  He just wanted me to photograph him!

Time And Time Again

"Time And Time Again"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

What a better way to end 2013 and begin 2014 with a photograph of what I love to photograph the most.......hummingbirds!  This immature male Ruby-Throated hummingbird frequented this canna lily time and time again.  How do I know?  Look closely at the claw marks up and down the closed flower.
