Indian Creek Falls

Our family loves to hike to waterfalls! Our typical tradition before we vacation in North Carolina is to hike to a few falls. This month we visited Indian Creek Falls, Tom Branch Falls, and Juneywhank Falls.

Learn from our experience and carefully look at a trail map. We got lost in the woods for over an hour when we took the wrong fork on the trail. Much later, when we turned around to go back, the trail was faint and we somehow lost the path. Needless to say, it was not a fun experience!

While in Cades Cove, Ma Betty was thirsty and led her four cubs to the road so she could get a drink from a puddle. One by one, the cubs climbed over the log to follow her. She has trained them well to stay close.

Charge!

I enjoyed watching a herd of horses relax and play in a field after their long day of work at Cades Cove. I am sure they enjoyed taking people on trail rides, but it was neat watching them just be free to do as they pleased.

One by one, they crossed a field and galloped towards where the other horses were resting. It was as if they entered the field saying, "Hey guys, I'm here!"

Cute as Pie!

Meet Howard or should I say Bobby? A friend of mind is caring for a Scottish Highland calf for someone. His original name was Howard. Now it is Bobby.

Isn't he the cutest thing ever?

I got the privilege of feeding him and had to hold the bottle to my side because when he jabs forward, the bottle would be shoved into my stomach. Luckily, I was told this ahead of time.

My friend Jo D'Eramo took this photo for me.

My car served as a great hide as I was driving through the campus at Berry College on Saturday. I am so thankful for their generosity to let us enjoy the beauty found on their campus.

Owl Paparazzi

While in Cades Cove, a group of people continually followed this barred owl everywhere he went. He flew into the creek twice and into about five trees until he flew back into the forest. I can imagine it was a funny sight to see!
