Early Risers

"Early Risers"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I am not an early riser, but this particular morning a had a great mission in mind.  It was the morning I was looking for the Snowy Owl on St. Simons Island, Georgia.  My dad suggested I take pictures of the sun rising. I did so then hunted for the Snowy Owl.

I posted the photos of the Snowy Owl at sunrise, but in case you did not see them, here is one shot:)

For those who are also having problems with Blogger uploading photos, this was quoted from the Blogger Team which enabled me to post today!!  "In the meantime, you can work around this issue by using a different browser (such as Chrome or Firefox) or temporarily switching to the Edit HTML mode of the compose editor."  I wrote in the compose mode then posted the photo under HTML.

Merry Christmas Snowy Owl!

Merry Christmas Snowy Owl!
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

One of my favorite Christmas presents......to see the Snowy Owl on St. Simons Island on Christmas Day!  Again Jesus answered my prayer and let me see him:)

It was sunset, so there wasn't much light left.  I had been looking for him for two hours.  He had been hiding on Shipwatch's roof and suddenly popped up to the edge.  Thanks to Steve O'Cain and his family for spotting him!

The Snowy Owl started to spread his wings and flew right over my head!  My YouTube video: http://youtu.be/oUVAw2agTq0

The video is from far away, and it suddenly stops as I tried to take a photo as he flew overhead.  I panicked and did not think about getting a photo from the video:(

Sunrise With Mr. Snowy Owl

"Sunrise With Mr. Snowy Owl"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

An immature male arctic Snowy Owl has found his way to St. Simons Island, Georgia.  His visit is rare.  I heard where he had been hanging out and went to the beach for sunrise photos and to find the Snowy Owl.  I spotted him on top of a condo near the coast guard station around 7:30 in the morning.

The Gackles must not be very intelligent birds because they were pestering him.  I guess they did not think they could end up as the Snowy Owl's breakfast!  I love the glow of the morning sun on the owl.

I showed several people walking by where the Snowy Owl was hiding.  Two people said they viewed it as a wonderful Christmas present.  They asked me how I found him and besides knowing where to look, I told them I prayed and asked Jesus to help me find him!!
