Have you ever heard of the butterfly effect—because one thing happens, something else happens?

In my photography, I would rather call it the Jesus effect. I ask the Lord to show me or bring to me what He wants me to photograph. So, the Lord may bring me something to photograph, which may lead to me photographing something even better.

This particular day at Radnor State Park, I enjoyed finding critters to photograph with another photographer. We found an owl earlier, and then I saw the cutest chipmunk taking nesting materials to his hole.

While I was photographing the chipmunk, a lady walked by, and I showed it to her. She said, “There is an owl around the corner.” After getting a better description of where he was, we ran like crazy in hopes we would find it.

He was right where she said. We were delighted to say the least. We photographed the owl a while, then he flew across the road and posed in a tree.

My friend was hoping he would fly down and grab a vole. After he left, the owl did try twice to catch something but failed both times. This was the parting shot he let me take.

While at Radnor Lake State Park, another photographer and I found a chipmunk storing up acorns for the winter. He was surprised upon seeing us and immediately froze. It did not take long for him to continue carrying his treasures back to his burrow.

In an instant life can change and take us by surprise—sometimes tragically. Sunday, the world mourned the death of nine people in a helicopter crash including Kobe Bryant and his daughter. They boarded the craft not knowing it would be their last day alive.

James 4:14 states, “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while then vanishes.”

If you were on that helicopter, do you know whether you would be with your maker in Heaven? You have the moment right now to seal your eternal destination.

It’s as simple as ABC. A — Admit that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23)    

B — Believe that Jesus, God’s only son, was born and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 16:31)

C — Confess and repent of your sins and ask Him to be Lord of your life. (1 John 1:9) 

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

GQ Squirrel

Yesterday, while I was at Radnor Lake State Park with another photographer, we found a squirrel huddled on top of a tree hollow. It was a cold morning, so he was trying to keep warm.

We photographed him, and then he added a little bit more action. He stuck a GQ pose and held it for a minute.

He was so much fun to photograph. I don’t think I will ever have the pleasure to see this again.
