Diving In

“Diving In”
Judy Royal GlennPhotography

This is an immature male ruby-throated hummingbird. Hummingbirds are great pollinators. They eat one and a half to three times their body weight in nectar and insects a day. So, they must visit 1,000 to 2,000 flowers every day!!

They can’t smell but use their near ultraviolet vision to direct them to the flowers.

We have a hummingbird at our house that I named Blonde. I know when I see her because her head is covered in pollen:)
