"A Watchful Eye"

It doesn't snow in Athens, Georgia very often. I wanted to photograph the contrast of the Cardinal against the snow. I did not realize how skiddish Cardinals were until I was intently trying to photograph them from a close distance. He was keeping a watchful eye on me.
I love photographing nature at eye level, so I got a blanket and laid down on my belly. Fortunately, I was on my front porch and not in the snow!

Gorgeous shot! Where we lived in Baytown, there was a mating pair in our next-door neighbor's yard. So beautiful.
