Under the Dock

"Under the Dock"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I went to the marina on St. Simons Island, Georgia to see what I could find to photograph. I saw a few barn swallows diving in and out underneath the dock, so I walked down the ramp, to get closer to the birds.

I found this particular bird perching on the pipes.

It did not take long to find its nest full of babies which was not far from its perch.

Baby Barn

"Baby Barn"  Photo by Judy Royal Glenn
Click on the photo for a closer view!

A bunch of Barn Swallows were fluttering about for a while, so I was able to get my tripod set up and wait.  I was taking the photos from a distance, and to me it seemed as though the Swallows were fighting or defending their territory.  When I was editing the photos, I noticed it was quite the opposite.  The Swallow with its mouth open was a "Baby Barn" waiting to be fed:)

As I was editing the photos, the photo received its title.  I thought it was neat, so it stuck!
