Trapped Alive!!

After my bout with the hummingbirds sticking out their tongues and the photo shoot with the praying mantis, I walked up on a spider on its web.  I really don't like spiders, but he looked like a good candidate for my next photo shoot.

As I was taking pictures, suddenly he disappeared out of my view.  I peeked around my camera to notice a ladybug landed in his web.  My first instinct was to help the ladybug get out, but I was too late!

Within a split second, the spider opened up its abdomen and spewed his silk on the ladybug.

The spider spun the ladybug round and round like a hotdog!

I kept taking pictures and could not believe what I was actually watching through my lense!

He continued spinning the ladybug around with his legs while adding layer after layer of silk.

I could not help the ladybug, but it ended well for another small bug I was able to free from the web!!  I thought I would end with this photo and not of the ladybug being eaten!  WOW...what a moment I was able to capture!!  Jesus answered prayer once again and pulled out all the stops today!

Another 'Friend' In The Garden

After I captured the hummingbirds sticking their tongues out, I walked through the Botanical Garden and found my next subject.....a praying mantis!  But I did not find him this way!

I was close to stepping on him because he was in the middle of the path when I first encountered him!!  Little did he know he was going to be in my photo shoot!

I put him on some flowers and took photos of him.  He kept his eye on me, and I don't think he was too excited.  I was thankful the Lord again brought me another friend in the garden:)

Born With Two Black Eyes!

I took photos of a baby colt at a barn we visit every year where we go horseback riding.  While taking the pictures, I really did not notice the colt had two black eyes!

Nonetheless, he is super cute!

The 'Son' Shining Through

"The 'Son' Shining Through" Photo by Judy Royal Glenn
Click on the photo for a closer view. Notice the cute little bee!

I enjoy looking at this photo because the flower is illuminated by the sun shining through its petals. But more importantly......are we letting the 'Son' shine through us?

Well, I couldn't come up with an appropriate title for this photo, so I asked my husband.  He
sang the alleluia chorus and told me that was the first thing that popped in his mind!

My favorite part of this photo is not so much the flower but the light shining through in the background.  I love that you can see a hexagon shape!

Did I Just See What I Thought I Just Saw?

I went back to the Botanical Garden yesterday!  I spent a couple hours taking photos of the hummingbirds again.

As I was taking pictures, I thought I saw one stick out his tongue!  Did I just see what I thought I just saw?  I kept my camera focused and took tons of pictures hoping I would catch him doing it again.

Click, click, click....sure enough, he stuck his tongue out again!

This was his favorite place to land, so I made sure I had my camera ready.  He must have landed here a dozen times!

I was excited to get so many shots!  I had a few more but did not want to post them because they were not focused very well.  I again prayed before I went out, and I am thankful He provided so many neat adventures.  I have a few more new stories and photos from this day to post later!!

I've Gotta Itch!

"I've Gotta Itch!"  Photo by Judy Royal Glenn

The hummingbird is by far the hardest creature I have tried to photograph.  They are lightning fast and by the time you see them, get your camera ready, focus, and click, they have decided to go to the next flower!

It is hard to find these little guys in the trees....they just blend in.  I couldn't find this one and when I looked up, he was right over my head!  When I was editing the photo, I was amazed to see the down feathers.  Click on the photo for a closer view.

I was a little aggravated at them because they kept sitting in the trees. There were three hummingbirds, and I think they were scouting each other out!  Finally got a decent one of him feeding at the flowers!  Caught ya!

I knew this one would be a great shot as soon as he landed!

This one was cleaning himself!

All to say....I was very thankful to find these creatures.  They amaze me.  Before I went to the Botanical Garden, I again asked the Lord to bring me things to take photos of.  I had never seen hummingbirds here before!  I spent well over an hour playing ring around the rosie (the flower beds) to catch photos of them.  Now I 'm thankful they sat in the trees!
