My Favorite Five – “A Forest of Trees”

My Favorite Five – “A Forest of Trees”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I decided before I post my best of nine photographs for Instagram in 2018, I would post my favorite five posts from 2018 and see what the difference is. It was hard making my decision and when I started compiling them, I noticed a trend. This year was the years of firsts. It was my first time raising monarch butterflies, photographing frozen soap bubbles, and getting to hold Lulu, a three-toed sloth, then photographing her. It was only my second year photographing black bears. I guess they are my new loves and that is why they all made my favorite five!

A Forest of Trees

“A Forest of Trees”
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

It looks like a forest of trees growing on this soap bubble:) What do you see?

Watching the bubbles starting to freeze is truly amazing. I put a video of it on YouTube. My how-to directions are written in the Youtube description, and I list two recipes that I use.

If you have never seen a video of it start to freeze, you will be glad you did:) If you missed my last post about frozen soap bubbles, click here. An earlier post of a frozen soap bubble can be found here. Or if you would like to go straight to my YouTube page to see the video click here.

Here is my favorite recipe for frozen soap bubbles. I don't like adding sugar because it sometimes shows up in the bubble. The recipe is: 6 parts water, 2 parts dish soap,1 part white corn syrup
(The small batch I make is: 1 ½ c. water, ½ c. dish soap, ¼ c. corn syrup)

“A Masterpiece” - The video - YouTube video of how to video frozen soap bubbles.

“A Masterpiece” - My YouTube Video

I am sharing my frozen soap bubble photograph again to give a perspective of my YouTube video. This is the final product of a soap bubble freezing during the winter. It has amazing crystal structures that start growing larger until they all intersect.
Watching soap bubbles freeze is magical. Bubbles themselves are miracles.

If you would like to learn how to make a video like this, you can visit my YouTube channel you can click the video above. In the description under the video on YouTube, I listed how to video the bubbles as they start to freeze and the recipe I used. I will post more videos on my YouTube channel later and list another recipe I like.

Please subscribe while you are there:) Thank you!!
