American Coot

"American Coot"

I don't get to photograph the American coot very often. It is not a very pretty bird, but I like to photograph it nonetheless.

Compassion

When I take photos, I seem to find lame or injured animals.  This Mallard has what I named a cleft lip.  I don't know if she was born that way or if she was injured.  The thing I love about these injured animals is they appear strong and resilient not letting their impediment hold them back.  They have to learn to adapt and move forward.  I have compassion for them.  What lesson can we learn from them?
