“Freedom”, Georgia Southern’s American Bald Eagle, flew over Paulson Stadium Friday at the end on fall commencement and landed on the 20-yard line where his handler was waiting. My son, Ashton, also soared high and graduated summa cum laude. I am so proud of his accomplishments and can’t wait to see where he will land.

Back history - “Freedom” was found just a few weeks old and had been knocked out of the nest. He suffered infection, and injury to his beak, therefore could not be released in the wild.
