A Morning Stroll

Willets are very skittish and usually run away. I was glad this one was comfortable enough to walk in front of my camera a couple of times.

Cozumel’s Iron Shore

“Cozumel’s Iron Shore”

Cozumel is one of the beautiful islands we visited while on our Royal Caribbean cruise in 2015. The coast boasts various types of beaches of which we visited the rocky “iron shore” limestone beach.

We asked the taxi driver to take us to the beach as we left our port. Little did we know exactly where he was dropping us off.

We made the best of the beach and had a good time. Paul relaxed in a hammock while I photographed the shoreline.

I brought a shell with me to each beach we visited. I had to be very careful—one wrong step and I would be getting stitches. Even with flip-flops it was dangerous as one time it slipped off. Luckily, my foot landed on sand.

Come and Get It!

Nick, a local fisherman, caught a fish and threw it to George—the resident great blue heron. George is very smart and patient as he waited expectantly while Nick fished.

Upside Down

Gulf Fritillary Butterfly

Butterflies are fast little critters and a challenge to photograph, so I don’t mind if they are upside down when I photograph them.

Flaming Flower

I tried to find the perfect Valentine's Day photo to post but could not find what I wanted. So, I decided to share a photo of a new technique I experimented with. It's a motion blur shot taken while leaving the shutter open longer.

It is going to take a while for me to master the technique. I've gotta start somewhere!

Have a blessed and wonderful Valentine's Day!
