My Hangry Face!

“My Hangry Face!”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

In February, I had the privilege to photograph my first Eastern screech-owl (Adult red morph).

He was a cute little fellow nestled in a tree. He didn’t appear to be hangry, but I like the face he gave me. I’ll pretend he was super hungry therefore, hangry.

A Winter Wonderland

“A Winter Wonderland”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

A few weeks ago, I was waiting on a friend to meet me in Cades Cove, Tennessee. I photographed the first snow of 2020 the day before but knew the snow was going to stick around because of the low temps.

While I waited, I photographed the various steams in the Cove. It truly was a winter wonderland!

Divine Providence

“Divine Providence”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

If you have been following my work for some time, you know I have mentioned many times about the Lord’s intervention in my photography. He blesses my photography so much—even times when I least expect it. I pray and ask the Lord to show me or bring to me what He wants me to photograph.

My apartment overlooks a cove right next to the water’s edge. On this particular day, I was walking my dog in my apartment complex. For some reason, I looked up. There before me was an immature bald eagle in a dead tree.

Hurriedly, I picked up the dog; ran to my apartment and got my camera. I asked the Lord to please have him stay there until I got back.

I love when He answers even my simple prayers.

A Failed Pursuit

“A Failed Pursuit”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

In the distance, a man was photographing a buck in Cades Cove. My friend wanted to photograph a buck because freshly fallen snow decorated the landscape. She stopped and headed down the trail, and I followed.

The buck left his scent on a tree then disappeared over the snowy embankment. We reached the top of the hill and peered over to find him.

He stood frozen at the bottom of the hill enthralled by a doe grazing in the distance. Step by step, he approached her. She showed no interest and continued to graze.

After while, she disappeared into the woods. Before I left, I glanced and saw the buck looking for her—it was a failed pursuit.

On His Own

“On His Own”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I was excited to go to the Cades Cove this week because of the snow. My goal was to find a black bear in the snow—I was thrilled to find this yearling.

Before I got there, he ran up the tree because a buck scared him. He eventually came down and posed for the crowd.

He was ever present and constantly aware of his surroundings. He is on his own without mom’s protection. It is sad, but we all have to grow up sometime and be on our own.
