Resolute

"Resolute"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I enjoyed watching this Green Heron hunt for food while I was at the Little Mulberry Park in Dacula, Georgia.  I was able to get a low point of view by laying on my stomach on a pier at the park.  I put my lens on the boards of the pier's floor and between the first slat of the railing.  My lens barely fit in the small space, but I am glad it did so I could shoot low.

The Big One

"The Big One"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

Another photographer and I were so excited to see this Great Blue Heron snag the big one and be there to capture the photograph.

I don't have Photoshop and stitched these two photos together to make it larger.  It's not perfect, but it will do for today.

I love the reflection of the fish in this photograph

Hummingbird Moth

"Hummingbird Moth"

I had never seen a Hummingbird moth in person until I took this photograph.  I was amazed how it fluttered about like a hummingbird.  If you ask me, I think it looks like a furry, flying lobster.

I was enjoying photographing a beautiful flower and then a grasshopper decided to make the photograph look even better.

"Cleft Lip Lama?"

"Cleft Lip Lama?"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This is a photo of a lama at a small roadside zoo near highways 16 and 57 in Georgia.  It was just a dollar at get in, and there were quite a few animals, so I decided to go.  This is the lama's better side.

The lama  has some sort of a cleft lip which was very visible.  I enjoyed photographing the lama and the other animals.

Remi

"Remi"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This is Remi my niece's and her boyfriend's new Chocolate lab puppy.

I just met Remi the day I photographed him.

I got my niece's boyfriend to help me as puppies don't like to sit still when they are being photographed.

Her boyfriend did a good job of constantly putting him in the correct spot when Remi started to run away.

I love his green eyes!

Clever Hunter

"Clever Hunter"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography
It was a rainy morning, but I was determined to shoot anyway.  I found a very clever Black-Crowned Night-Heron.  He would fly to a PVC pipe that attaches the boat to the dock  and then walk down the pipe until he got close to the water.
People would ride bikes or walk down the dock, so he was nervous in this shot.
The Black-Crowned Night-Heron would watch the minnows in the water then strike.  He was a very clever and good hunter not missing very often.  I came back the next day, and where did I find him....

Snoozin'

Snoozin'
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I love that I was able to capture this photo of a Ruby-throated hummingbird because it looks like he is snoozin'.  I don't know if they normally sleep like that, but I thought it was cute.

He first started upright and slowly leaned over more and more until he was in the position in the first photograph.

Hindsight

"Hindsight"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This is Hindsight.  His full name is TWLR Hindsight 2020.  He looks like a small innocent bull until you see his full body.

He weighs over 2,000 pounds and really is sweet.  He even likes his back scratched (you can see the scratch marks on his back).

Hindsight and Bella (the red cow) along with many other animals belong to the Clements family not too far from my house.

I had never seen a red cow before and think their coloring is beautiful.

This baby bull was there visiting too.

The Boys of Summer

"The Boys of Summer"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

My family and I go crabbing when we are on St. Simons Island, Georgia.  I usually bring my camera to take photos of my kids crabbing.

I noticed some boys jumping off a very high dock above the creek and decided to take some photographs.  They noticed I was taking photos, and enjoyed the attention they were receiving.  The dock was about100 yards away, so I yelled to them and asked them to all jump at the same time doing poses in the air.

This is one of many shots I got.  It's not my typical nature and wildlife photograph, but is a photograph of "The Boys of Summer" having a blast enjoying the nature around them.

A Drop Of Water

"A Drop Of Water"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

It is amazing to see the effect that one drop of water can make.  There were beautiful tulips around the water fountain, and I thought they would make a great reflection.

Got Minerals?

"Got Minerals?"
Judy Royal Glenn Photography

I went down a dirt road early one morning before I went to the Botanical Garden.  I found a few critters to photograph there before, so I decided to give it another try.

As I was driving down the road, I noticed a lot of rats and mice on the road.  I figured they were feasting on something great to eat.  I even saw a bunny rabbit eating next to a rat.

When something would scare them, they would scamper back into the brush.  I quickly set up my tripod and camera and waited for them to come back out.  They were about 12 feet away from me, and they were doing a lot of digging and scratching.

I guess they were licking the minerals off of the rocks and in the dirt.  This photo shows him licking the rock.

This photograph shows him licking another rock:)  Several times, it appeared like he was actually eating the rocks as in the first photo.  Anyway, never seen anything like it, and I had a blast!
